“Light the World” Giving Machines are located around the world and are a popular and sought-after holiday tradition. Since 2017, more than two million people have visited a Giving Machine worldwide, with more than $44 million donated in goods and services. They will be in over 130+ citites and 21 countries this holiday season!

What are Giving Machines?

Giving Machines are customized red vending machines with a twist! Instead of dispensing a product to consume, they allow people to donate tangible items to help those in need, whether they live across the street or across the world.

Through this unique, fun, and memorable way of giving, you are able to do an instant act of kindness for someone in need! You can gift things like clean water, chickens, meals, toys, and more to those in need through a unique giving experience. Your donations go directly to global and local charities to help change lives around the world!

How does it work?

Local and international non-profit organizations offer essential items to benefit those they serve, such as food, clothing, medical care, education, shelter, clean water, livestock, and more.

The Giving Machine displays these items for the public to select and purchase. Non-profits receive an itemized list of donations for fulfillment.

Where does my donation go?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints covers all operational costs for the Light the World Giving Machine initiative. Individual credit card transaction fees are covered by the donor or the Church. As such, participating nonprofit organizations receive 100 percent of every donation to purchase and deliver your selected items. Occasionally it becomes necessary to make an item substitution to meet unexpected needs. When this occurs, replacement products or services remain in the same category as the original.

What methods of payment are accepted at a Giving Machine?

In most places, Giving Machines accept credit and debit cards and mobile payment services. In a few countries, cash and cards are accepted.
